SBC Annual Event
Have received good feedback from NASA, primes, and attendees
Primes would like to have a joint event next year; SBC would still benefit
Good attendance considering less procurement activity and not combined with NASA event
Would like to add more about future procurements, forecast, etc, to the agenda
Good venue (support to run logistics was nice), but theater large compared to number of people; Suggestion to use a venue like LPI (lunar planetary institute), but part of our event is community involvement so inclusion of UHCL is good
Not enough resources to organize formal matchmaking; Next year, possibly have primes organize their own matchmaking or ask SBA representative to help with it
Possibly shorten event next year – morning only?
Issue with people returning to the event after breaks; possibly due to venue
Need to distribute invite about two weeks earlier
Not enough parking signs; need to add parking instructions to registration
If lunch to be provided next year, need to figure out a way to receive pre-payment
New Business
Discussed how many events SBC should have each year; Currently besides the August event, we are active at the NCMA event in April and we also sponsor mixers between JSC representatives and small businesses
Should SBC set up as a non-profit business, establish a bank account, etc?
Start having combined meetings between other than small and small businesses (more collaboration);
Do primes have acquisition forecast for internal purchases? Will ask about it at meeting between primes and SBC
Determine impact of JSC contract reduction on small businesses (as announced at JSC all-hands)
Organize the retreat; Tentative date set for October 13
