​Ad Hoc: Holiday Event Committee
  • Primary objective of this event is to introduce the Small Business Technical Coordinators, explain their role, and to network with them, as well as the other business representatives.
  • Mom Alone Restaurant. January 26,2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm
  • Evites will be sent to SBC distribution list

Ad Hoc: Business Cards
  • Kenn Hall delivered the JSC SBC business cards.
  • Kevin will deliver a majority to the JSC Industry Assistance Office.

Communications Committee
  • No report.

Machine Shop Event
  • No date selected. Will meet with Ric Slater after the holiday.

Valerie’s Corner
  • The Houston Procurement Center Rep position is closed. Selection is expected in January.
  • Anticipating that President-Elect Trump will put a freeze on government hiring.
  • President-Elect Trump plans to have the SBA remain at the Cabinet level.
    • Linda McMann has been named as Mr. Trump’s nominee for SBA Administrator.
  • National Defense Authorization (NDA)  Act will put 10 – 11 new laws in place; mostly about subcontracting.
  • SBA approved 52 ‘all small’ business mentor protégé programs. NASA is not participating.

New Business
  • Nominations Committee: Time to begin preparing for the 2017 nominations.
  • NCMA Small Business Conference. Scheduled April 13 at the Gilruth Center.
    • The JSC SBC is a source of topics for the conference with NASA being a decision making on which will be on the conference agenda.
